BRINGING BACK GOD, PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRISTOL and MARIETTA: Did God forget about us??

Do you think God has forgotten about us?  With the wars in the Middle East, the kidnapping of children, the murder, rage, and hatred that is in the world, do you think God has given up on us?  According to  PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD, while preaching in BRISTOL and MARIETTA, God has not forgotten about us.   We think that He has forgotten us, we think that He just may not care. There are so many who have so many different beliefs because we are always looking for a sign and for proof. Through out the Holy Bible, it is written that God reveals himself to us….According to PASTOR JOHN COLLINS“God revealed Himself to Adam and Eve. God revealed Himself to Cain. They were brothers and Cain slew Abel. God revealed Himself to Noah. His family was saved and right there is where we can ALL trace back our family lines. We all come from one of those people who eventually produced the human race that is covering this globe we call earth. God revealed Himself to Abram and called him away from his homeland to promise his descendants a new land. God told Abraham that his descendants would be strangers in a strange land and would serve them, Egypt, 400 years. God revealed Himself to Isaac and to Jacob, whom He renamed Israel, and renewed His promise with both of them. God was with Joseph in Egypt and enabled him to save His chosen people from the famine. God revealed Himself to Moses and through signs and miracles led the Jewish people out of Egypt and into Canaan. God revealed Himself to the people at Mt. Sinai and they were terrified and asked Moses to intercede. God gave the law at Mt. Sinai. God led them through the desert for 40 years. God revealed Himself to Joshua and led them to conquer much of the Promised Land.” After all this, which is written in the Holy Bible, Israel still chose to rebel. God continuously gives Israel a chance to redeem itself and come back to God, it is the chosen people.  But also, because of the gift of Jesus and salvation to us through His death on the Cross, all of us have a chance to redeem ourselves.

We still don’t please God, though, even when he has given us all these chances to succeed. PASTOR JOHN COLLINS preachethat “Israel is a battlefield and it is not the only one. There is war in our hearts and in our souls and in all this time that we have been on this earth it seems as if we have learned nothing. Where is our compassion? Where is our love? Where is our respect, not only for ourselves, but for each other? We are forever repeating such bad choices and right now there are so many people hastening the return of Jesus Christ. It is not by our hand that we will hasten that. We will surely destroy ourselves in the effort though. Quit looking for signs people and start praying for peace. Quit looking for the rapture to come and get your knees dirty and pray for Israel. For they are the firstborn, yet we are next. They are our family and our beloved people. And if you think that is not true of you, you are wrong. My family came from that boat and so did yours. I don’t care what religion you claim, I don’t care what your beliefs are; the truth is we are related.
I am asking that you consider carefully the truth of your heart. I am asking that you consider carefully your thoughts and your prayers. I am asking that you consider your actions and speech to others. I am asking that you find compassion and bother with the time it takes to seek mercy from the Lord. Pray that Israel and all of us find mercy and compassion from God and Jesus Christ. Pray that healing and building hope can begin. Pray that the Holy Land begin to act Holy and pray for those that have been hurt and lost loved ones in this fight.”

And most of all, remember to be thankful for this one great merciful truth, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. God still wants all of us.  Find salvation in His Son Jesus, He died on the cross for us.  God wants all of us.

BRINGING BACK GOD, PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRISTOL AND MARIETTA: Love like Jesus-selflessly

Jesus loved us selflessly-he suffered and then hung on a cross and died for us so that we can have eternal life.  There is no greater selflessness than to give your life for others. PASTOR JOHN COLLINS when preaching at BRINGING BACK GOD in BRISTOL and MARIETTA, tells us that Jesus loved selflessly all the time. And, since Jesus was the living God, acting on behalf of our Father in heaven, what Jesus did, He did because it was of God.  The Old Testament tells us in Leviticus 19:18 (KJV) “Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love the neighbor as thyself.  I am the Lord.” In the New Testament in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus preached “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. ” Matthew 5:44-45 (KJV). It’s easy for us to love those who love us.  That’s normal for us as humans.  Jesus loved everyone, he loved the unlovable.  That is what we are to do as Christians, to be Christ-like, according to PASTOR JOHN COLLINS.Loving the unlovable goes against what society teaches us.

One of PASTOR JOHN COLLINS favorite preachers is David Wilkerson.  Wilkerson went from a mountain town in Pennsylvania and began a ministry among the heroin addicts of New York City.  In the 1960’s. His story sounds like it could be happening today.  Wilkerson loved the unloved.  He gave hope to young men and women who were addicts by giving them and showing them the love of Jesus.  So many of those addicts had no hope.  Loving selflessly like Jesus gave them hope and brought them out of the desert of wilderness.  It isn’t impossible to love the unlovable.  You can do anything through Christ.  Just ask, pray for it with heartfelt desire and you will know how according to PASTOR JOHN COLLINS. We Christians need to love the unlovable. It means not doing what will bless us, but doing what will bless them. It will save ourselves and the world.

BRINGING BACK GOD, PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRISTOL AND MARIETTA: Love like Jesus-forgivingly

forgiveness

According to PASTOR JOHN COLLINS in sermons at BRINGING BACK GOD, in BRISTOL and MARIETTA, Jesus loved forgivingly, sacrificially, selflessly, and understandingly. PASTOR JOHN COLLINS encourages us to be Christ-like as Christians. One way to be Christ-like is to love like Jesus did. For us, because we are human, it does not come naturally.  We sooner take the easy way and give in to the ways of the world…..we say “I’m having a bad day, I just can’t take this, they did this to me” and turn around and take our bad day out on someone else-in turn they respond in kind and choose to have a bad day as well. The Holy Bible says to “love thy neighbor as thyself”. Do we love ourselves so little that we want to make someone else’s life miserable because something happened? Jesus loves forgivingly. Daniel 9:9 says “To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him”.  Jesus was the living God, and all that He did, He did by God’s command.  He loved forgivingly. If Jesus loved forgivingly, then God loves forgivingly.  If God wants us to be Christ-like, Christian, then we need to learn to love others forgivingly.

We can easily take offense at what other people do or say. It’s our nature. But God wants us to forgive others, like we forgive ourselves-love thy neighbor as thyself. Someone at a business made an error the other week.  A pretty big one, one that affected people directly and indirectly-it spread like a web.  The individual who made the error was busy gossiping about the town-where to go, what to do, someone who misused a church.  While she was doing this, she made an error that had pretty far reaching effects. The individual who had to deal with the fall out from the error chose not to dwell on it or make a big deal out of it, they chose to forgive the person who made the error. The opportunity to fix the error by someone else came quickly-a blessing from God– so that no one suffered for the mistake.  The person who made the mistake was committing sin by gossiping. In that moment, Satan had a chance to create pain and misery. Giving forgiveness to that person stopped Satan in his tracks.  There was no route for him to follow.  None.  Genuinely loving your neighbor and giving forgiveness is Christ-like. Jesus was willing to die to cleanse us of our sins.  Being bitter and holding resentment would have been the normal response for most people…giving Satan free reign in our hearts. With Christ-like love and forgiveness, it stopped him in his tracks.  What an outcome.  How much better off we all would be if we could do that! Peter in Acts 3:19 said “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” PASTOR JOHN COLLINSpreaches the same thing-that we seek forgiveness from God through Jesus, so that we can have eternal life. Seek that relationship with God, be like Jesus.  Love everyone forgivingly.

Pastor John Collins, Bringing Back God, BRISTOL & MARIETTA: Who judges?

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD, BRISTOL & MARIETTA, did a sermon about personal change and church congregations judging others. In the sermon, PASTOR JOHN COLLINS read the lyrics from a song by Johnny Paycheck, posted below.  It is called “The Outlaw’s Prayer”:

You know, I worked the Big Packet show in Fort Worth, Saturday night,
We had all day Sunday to rest and relax, before I caught another flight.
So I decided to walk down town an’ get myself a little fresh air.
Before long, I found myself in front of a big church on the corner of the square.

Boy, I could hear that singin’ way out in the street, sure was a beautiful sound.
So I just walked up the steps an’ opened the door an’ started to go inside an’ sit down.
But before I could, a young man walked over to me an said: “Excuse me, Sir,
“But I can’t let you in with that big black hat, those jeans, that beard an’ long hair.

So I just left, went back outside, sat down on that curbing, an I thought to myself:
That’s the house of the Lord. That guy’s got the hell of a nerve.
Tellin’ me I can’t worship anywhere I please.
So right there, in front of that Church, I just knelt down on my knees.

I said: “Lord, I know I don’t look like much, but I didn’t think you’d mind.
“I just wanted to be with your people, Lord: it’s been a long time.
“A while ago, a saw a wino over there in the alley, all bent over in tears,
“An’ I thought how one stained glass window, from this Church, would feed his family for years.”

“Then there’s those fine cars parked outside: too many for me to count.
“Made me think how people walked for days to hear your sermon on the mount.
“Then there’s those fine ladies in the choir, Lord, singin’ like they really love it.
“Hell, last night, they were dancin’ on the front row of my show: drinkin’ beer, screamin: ‘Sing Shove It.’

“You know, even John the Baptist wouldn’t be welcome in this place,
“With his coat made of Camel hair an’ sandals on his feet an’ a long beard on his face.
“You know, Lord, when you come back to get your children, an’ take ’em beyond the clouds,
“To live forever in Heaven with you: well, I’d sure hate to be in this crowd.

“You know, Lord, I’m not perfect; some even call me no count.
“But I’ll tell you: I believe a man is judged by what’s in his heart, not what’s in his bank account.
“So if this is what religion is: a big car, a suit an’ a tie,
“Then I might as well forget it Lord, ’cause I can’t qualify.

“Oh, by the way, Lord, right before they kicked me out, didn’t I see a picture of you?
“With sandals an’ a beard. Believe you had long hair too.”
“Well, this is Paycheck, signing off.
“I’ll be seein’ you Lord, I hope.”

You could have heard a pin drop as he read the lyrics. Particularly compelling was the line “I believe a man is judged by what is in his heart, not his bank account.” The lyrics that point out how much money was spent on a stained glass window-how many people who needed food could that have fed?  How many families go hungry because there isn’t even enough money to buy Ramen noodles, yet church congregations ignore them.  Pastors ignore them.  Churches judge people by what they wear, how they look, how they talk.  Just because someone, a man or a woman, has tattoos doesn’t make them scary to talk to or someone to be afraid of.  Just because someone, man, woman, or child, has dirty shoes or holey clothes doesn’t make them less of a person. Just because they are different, doesn’t mean anything in the sight of God and Jesus.  Don’t judge.  Can you imagine a singer/songwriter like Garth Brooks or George Strait not being allowed into a church?  So what if a guy has long hair?  Makes no difference.  He is still one of God’s children and has just as much right to be in a church as the bank president.

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS  preaches that God wants the sinners in His church.  He wants the people who have the most to lose to have an opportunity of hope.  PASTOR JOHN spoke of changes. We as humans have the right to choose what changes need to happen in our lives. Making changes in our lives to include Jesus is difficult. The path to failure is very wide and easy to follow. The path to being a Christian is narrow and difficult. PASTOR JOHN speaks of Jesus as being the salvation for us on that narrow path through repentance. If we repent and ask forgiveness for our sins, we will find our way in heaven. The Bible says once we accept Jesus into our lives, we are born new. The Holy Bible also says judge not lest ye be judged.  Don’t judge a person by what they look like, how they act, or what they wear.  Don’t judge.  Give them a chance, give them a hand up.  Help them.

Pastor John Collins, Bringing Back God, Bristol & Marietta: The old is new again

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD, BRISTOL & MARIETTA, says that the old is new again. So much of what is in the Holy Bible from the Old Testament to the New Testament to right now is appropriate and new again.  It is wisdom from the ages that is never too old to follow or understand. The first five books of the Holy Bible in the Old Testament are books of Moses.  The Ten Commandments were given by God to Moses and it’s described in the book of Exodus 20: 2-17.  Moses speaks of the Ten Commandments again in Deuteronomy 5: 7-21.  These laws are to live by for all of us, then and now.  To break one is to sin, and one is just the same as the other. Murder=adultery=idolatry=covet=lies. In Proverbs, 6:16-19, it speaks of the seven deadly sins-again pride, lies, murder, slander these are the same and God will reject you from fellowship because of these acts. In the New Testament, Jesus constantly preaches to those who come to hear him and to his disciples to follow these commandments, and clarifies that man is to love the Lord thy God with all  your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength-the first commandment. He also teaches to love others as yourself.  Put others first, do things for others that you would want done for you. In Matthew 15: 4-6 and 18-19, Jesus speaks of evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies-all references back to the writings from Moses.  Paul in Colossians 3: 5-10 emphasizes the same thing after Jesus’ crucifixion. These are appropriate for today, what is old is new, as PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD, teaches in his sermons. We still have issues with murder-its on the news every day, using the Lord’s name in vain-speaking of God in an empty manner, lies, adultery, idolatry, fornication-which is lust and looking at others with desire not love, stealing goes hand in hand with coveting-if you want it, take it?! All of these and more go directly back to the original Ten Commandments.

All God wants for us is to follow his laws.  His laws are a basic guideline to being a good person.  Jesus’ teachings tell us how to be Christian in addition to following God’s commandments. God sent Jesus to us to try to fix our sins since we had a difficult time following them in the first place! We as a society, whether in the USA or elsewhere, need to find our way to the cross, to be a better people, to help each other not stomp all over each other on our way to where—-Hell?  Jesus preached to help one another. PASTOR JOHN COLLINS preaches that we need to give a hand up, not a hand out. All we need to do is let Jesus into our hearts.  Repent our sins and mean it.  Then act like a Christian-our deeds and works show we are Christian. This is our way to the cross and to eternal life-which is what we want, right?

The old is new again.  If you want to hear more from PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, go to www.bringingbackgod.com, or listen to him on www.blogtalkradio.com/pastorjohncollins.  You can email him at bringingbackgod@outlook.com.

Bringing Back God: Don’t look back

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD uses a phrase repeatedly through his blogtalkradio.com sermons and his church sermons.  As a Christian, you aren’t a recovering anything.  You are just plain Christian. You are a new creature. In the Holy Bible, Ephesians 4:23-24 says “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man , which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (KJV). Philippians 3:13 it says “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” (KJV). And Colossians 3:9-10 says “ Lie not one to anther, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; an have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.”

These passages are from letters by Paul of Tarsus, encouraging those to whom he is writing to remember that once you become a Christian, you are a new person-new everything. This is exactly what PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD means when he says you aren’t a recovering anything.  You are just plain you, a Christian you.Don’t say you are a recovering alcoholic, you’re not recovering, you are new in Christ.  Don’t say you are a recovering addict of anything (this can be drugs, food, cigarettes, whatever you are addicted to), you are the new you of Christ.  You have given yourself a new life by accepting Jesus into your heart.  You are finding your way to the cross, as PASTOR JOHN COLLINS says.  Looking back at what you were, in a manner of worrying that you will go back to it or pick up those habits is of Satan.  PASTOR JOHN COLLINSencourages you as a Christian to look at that life and use that experience to tell others what Jesus has done for you in your life.  He helped you kick that addiction to whatever it was.  Use that experience to help others find their way to salvation.

Bringing Back God: Works and deeds

In a sermon at BRINGING BACK GOD, PASTOR JOHN COLLINS spoke about faith and works and deeds.  Taken from the King James Bible, James 2: 14-26, the Holy Bible says: “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS explains that in order to be a Christian, to find your way to heaven, you need to have faithFaith in God, faith in JesusBelieve with all your heart that they are there, that they exist. Believe that Jesus did die for us, to take our sins for us, and that God sent him to us to do just that.  His Perfect Son. And with that faith, then you need to love thy neighbor.  To do something for others, to put the needs of others above your needs, before your needs. To be selfless, not selfish.

On the other side of this, you can’t have works and deeds without faith.  You can be the kindest person with good intentions that walks the face of the earth.  You can give selflessly to everyone, but if you don’t have faith, you aren’t a Christian, and you won’t find heaven.  The road to hell is paved with good intention. It has to be both.

Bringing Back God: Pray like you mean it

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD, says that when you pray, ask for what you want with all your heart. Pray knowing that is what you want or need.  God answers prayers.  Sometimes we don’t like his answers, but he does answer prayers.  He also doesn’t always answer right away, according to PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD, but our prayers will be answered.  He teaches that the Holy Bible shows us that God will answer our prayers. Jesus says in Mark 11 23-24 “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (KJV). Faith and believing in God and Jesus will give us the answers we are looking for.  In John 16 23-24 Jesus says; “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” (KJV). PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, BRINGING BACK GOD, says this means that when you pray, pray to God, but you ask through Jesus.  Just like the only way to get to heaven is through Jesus, praying in Jesus’ name is how God hears our prayers.  James 1:5-6 says “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  But let him ask in faith, nothing waivering.  For he that waivereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” (KJV).

God will answer our prayers.  All we have to do is pray and mean it.  God bless you.

Bringing Back God: Rejection

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Everyone has been rejected sometime in their lifetime-as a child by friends one tries to fit in and often gives in to peer pressure.  As an adult, you still try to fit in: to be one of the country club guys, to be one of the party time girls, to fit into sororities and fraternities, to belong.  Rejection comes from friends, family, spouses, employers: rejection comes from all over.  How do you react to it, asks PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, MARIETTA PA and BRISTOL TN, BRINGING BACK GOD. Do you lash out at everyone around you, making others’ lives miserable as well as yours?  Do you sit in a corner and pout or pull a pity party for yourself, still making yourself miserable and likely others around you?  Or do you give it to God?

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS preaches from the Holy Bible 100% and believes every word that is written in it.  He says that Book says that God is with us all the time, no matter what and He knows what it is that we need before we know it to ask for.  We are tried daily for our faith to become strong in God and Jesus, because God wants our souls redeemed.  That is why He sent His son, Jesus to Earth, according to PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, so that we can redeem our sins through Jesus Christ and His death on the cross, his resurrection is our salvation.  So, should we mope about or act out our frustration and anger when we are rejected?  No.  We should turn to Jesus and God: that is what They are there for.  Prayer, redemption, support, relief.  Do you value the opinion of men over God?  That is what the negative feelings related to rejection are-you value what others say over what God wants for you.  The Pharisees were like this. John 12: 42-43: “Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.”(KJV). Let go of those feelings of rejection.  Simply love God.  Don’t push Him away. Give your feelings of rejection and self pity over to Jesus and ask for forgiveness for not trusting in God.  Find your way back to the cross, seek forgiveness, stop feeling sorry for yourself in whatever manner you do it.  Run your race and live each day to its fullest.Don’t dwell, harp, or wonder what if.  Eventually, you will be rewarded.  You just have to trust God.  Fully.

God bless you.
